What is third angle orthographic projection? - text alternative

This animation shows how to draw a shape using third angle orthographic projection.

  1. Imagine that the object you are viewing is suspended within a glass box and the views of each side of the object are projected outwards to the side of the box.
  2. If you then open the glass box and lay the sides flat, you will have a 2D drawing of the 3Dobject.
  3. Note in third angle orthographic projection:
    • the view from the front is in the centreProjection of each side across the far side.
