Gas metal arc welding: Gas metal arc
welding is a semi-automatic welding process which uses a gas covering and a
reel of wire utilising DC current.
General assembly drawing:
General assembly drawings include information about overall dimensions and
the general arrangement of components. A general assembly drawing is also called
an assembly drawing.
General notes:
There are two types of notes on engineering drawings - general and local.
General notes refer to the whole drawing.
Generator lines: Generator lines are
the forming lines on a conical shape.
Geometric development: Geometric development
refers to the discipline of developing patterns in the metal fabrication industry.
Gradians: Gradians are units of angular
measure. In a circle there are 400 gradians, therefore, a right angle is 100
gradians. A gradian is also called a grade or a gon.
Green: 'Green' is the term given to
the extra material that is added to the mean circumference
of a curved shape that is to be formed on a standard pyramid roll machine.
The flat 'green' section is removed after rolling so that the curve goes right
to the edge of the shape.
Guillotine: A guillotine is a device
with a sharp (or heavy) blade used to cut paper, plastic, or soft metals.
